Breckenridge, Colorado

If you travel to the Breckenridge resort during the winter months, chances are you’ll be sharing the slopes with professionals. This resort has one of the best, and most famous terrain parks on planet Earth. In fact, this resort has five of them. These parks feature olympic regulation half pipes, countless box and rail jumps, and an extremely fun and creatively designed terrain. On top of all this, the resort has 5 peaks, and nearly 3,000 usable acres! On top of the snowboarding, the town of Breckenridge itself is known by many to be an unbelievable ski and snowboarding town.

Hokkaido, Japan

The northernmost island in Japan may not be one of the largest, or most well known snowboarding attractions, however those who do make the journey out to the Western Pacific report having an unforgettable experience due to the uniqueness of its snow. What makes Hokkaido unique among snowboarding attractions is there is a constant influx of snowfall, creating an experience like no other for those who enjoy snowboarding on fresh powder…which should be everyone. This location is known to many as having the best powder for skiing and snowboarding in the world. If you needed any reason to go visit Japan, Hokkaido might just be your reason.

Lake Tahoe, California.

Featuring seven major resorts, Lake Tahoe is one of the most popular global attractions for skiers and snowboarders alike. Everyone loves the view standing on your snowboard on the top of a mountain. In Tahoe however, when looking down from the heights of the Sierra Mountains, the scenic Lake in which the mountain range surrounds enhances the snowboarding experience in ways hard to put into words. However magical this view may be, the quality of snowboarding this location has to offer is just as amazing. Snowboarders have the option to train on challenging terrain parks, breeze down freshly groomed alpine slopes, or take their time zigzagging through trees in the dense backcountry on fresh powder. If you call yourself a serious snowboarder, then you absolutely must try Lake Tahoe.

Wanaka, New Zealand

We gave Wanaka the first place award not only because of how good the snowboarding is there, but also because of how different it is from any other resort in the world. Immediately you will notice that Wanaka has no established runs or trails. Wanaka is simply an open terrain where snowboarders can choose their own way down. With tow ropes, slop side bunkers, and a view of the ocean directly in front of you, Wanaka is truly otherworldly and must be experienced at least once in any snowboarder’s lifetime.
